This is our custom made bearded hatche with a metal guard that helps in preventing damage to the handle. The handle is made from European beech tree and very suitable for chopping and for splitting wood. This hatchet is a must when you are in the forest and looking to prepare a camp fire & shelter. This is a compact and very reliable design. The head is made from high quality hardened & tempered stainless steel AISI-420J2, DIN- X30Cr13 (Hardness= HRC 55-60)! This type of stainless is very corrosion resistant. The hatchet head is heat treated and tempered to the perfect hardness to toughness ratio great for hard use that holds a great edge yet allows for ease of cutting edge maintenance using a common sharpening stone! The blade is shipped sharpened! These are as cool as it gets and a must have for the discerning Germanic warrior/bush-crafter that only the best will do!
